. . . came to our house on Saturday! A big new blue truck!
Amazingly, it's not a Ford! After many, many years of being Ford people, we bought a Toyota Tundra, but it was made in Tennessee. Dan's not crazy about the looks of the current Fords, and this truck had everything he was looking for, and a little more. We'll have room for grandsons in the back of this one, a major reason for trading his much-loved green F-150. We'll also get rid of his trusty old Explorer which he's used for his consulting vehicle, and we'll be down to just two rigs.
This new truck has all sorts of fancy gizmos and we have yet to sit down in it with the manual and figure everything out, but we will soon. This afternoon we're off to grandson Keaton's 5th Grade Graduation and this weekend Bruder Bear and I are hosting a party for our dad's 90th birthday and Mom and Dad's sixty-fifth anniversary!
Oooooooo, pretty! Manuals -- can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em. Tell you what -- just get one of those grandsons to show you how to operate all the gizmos. That would be a lot more fun.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the weekend.
Kath, we have suggested just that to ourselves! See you soon! :-)
DeleteWhat a surprise! I thought you'd stick to the truck and Explorer until their absolute end. I think you'll really enjoy your new vehicle. It seems like cars these days are almost driving themselves!
ReplyDeleteHallie, we thought we would too, but it appears that the Explorer is on its way ou (Dan barely made it home from his last business trip), and we decided the boys are growing up so fast that we needed to have a truck they could ride in for fishing and camping.
DeleteWhat a beauty!! Hubby is a "FORD" man too....for now...LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cindy! I know--we didn't think we'd ever buy anything but Ford, but Dan just doesn't care for the current Ford look (he says the trucks look like big bloated Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade balloons! LOL) He's really loving this new truck.
